          The Rev'd Robert W. Bosworth, Jr., our Rector, retired on December 1, AD 2007.  The process of looking for an interim has begun.  Should you still wish to contact Fr. Bob, please feel free to use this page to make contact with him. 

 

           The Rev'd Dr. William G. Brown, our Theologian in Residence, and interim priest, was a Roman Catholic priest for thirty-three years prior to joining our Episcopal Church.  He served and taught in The Vatican (Rome) and worked at the Second Vatican Council. He holds a Ph.D. in Theology and an MA in Philosophy. He is currently Dean of the School for Career Development at Midway College. Fr. Bill is celebrating his tenth anniversary of marriage to Linda and resides here in Frankfort.

 

          Linda K. Brown, our Program Director, has served Ascension for over ten years, making her our longest-tenured staff member.  She is responsible for many of the programs that Ascension offers to its own members as well as many programs offered to the Diocese and the community at large.  Her degree in Organizational Management and experience in Ministry Formation serves her well in the exercise of her ministry here.  She and her husband, Fr. Bill (above) are starting their second decade of Holy Matrimony.    

          Edwin Langford, our organist, holds degrees in Music and Education from the University of the Cumberlands and KY State Univ. He holds a Master of Music degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary School of Music, where he was a student of Boyd M. Jones II, and has done extensive graduate work in Education and Psychology. He has served as a member of The Commission for Music and Liturgy for the Diocese of Lexington, and is a member of the Lexington chapter of the American Guild of Organists. In addition to his duties at Ascension, he is a Senior Policy Analyst for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. His wife, Judy, is a retired Franklin County Schools music teacher, a former Adjunct Instructor of Music for the University of Kentucky, and a long time piano teacher. They have been married for 23 years, and reside in Frankfort.

            Deacon John Borders was a Roman Catholic for seventy years before joining the Episcopal Church. A member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war, Deacon John has technical training in electronics and computers from his 28-year secular employment. )Ordained deacon in 1995 in the Roman Church, he was received as a Episcopal deacon in 2006. A member of the Ministry Formation Team for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington for nine years, he served on the board of directors of a ecumenical outreach program in Somerset, Ky.  He has served as a deputy of the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington and on a parish vestry for a year. Currently he serves on the Diocese's diaconate formation team. His wife, Bobbie, and he have been married for six years.
